This is a bit of a rant. I have just returned from a trip. A trip that cost me about R120 personally. A trip that cost my company about R700 in billable hours. I have just returned from a trip to the toaster in Stellenbosch.
1) The location is not ideal. If you have ever been to stellenbosch, you will know that parking is virtually non-existant. A shopping mall is a far better option than a private universities library. I can understand the logic of putting it there, but analyse you target market.
2) This is the biggie. It is unfortunately an open-source epidemic. The idea of the toaster is brilliant. Really. But the execution is lacking. As per your web-site, this machine burns DVDs.

So I took DVDs. It was a waste of my time! The only support this thing offers a DVD is in physically stopping it from falling onto the floor when I put it into the tray. This is often an issue with open source. Great ideas but there is a lack of accountability. I don't lie to my customers. If I inconvenience them, I make bloody sure that I make it up them them. If they have a problem, I try to make it go away. Thats how business works.
I am now going to download the stuff I needed and will not waste further time on this sans a written guarantee from Mark stating that it will no longer waste my time.
PS, why doesn't this web entry wiki thing support a new line < BR > or a pragraph < P >? These aren't exactly a new concept wating for introduction into html 5.0 spec....
I have been working in the IT sector for a few months now and have met alot of clients. To me you get two different types op clients "The ones that do good business and are able to sort things out for them self's and the "not impressed unhappy" ones. Well in any case what I wanted to say is that the unhappy ones are the ones that will rather die before thinking for themselfs and blames others for their shortcomings. I assemble PC's and and makes sure that I do a good job. Some clients buys components and and assembles the PC's themselfs and then come back back the next day with a lot of hoo haa and we have the fix everything and they then argues and tell us that they wont buy from us again. We really dont need those types of clients. I sometimes wonder how they treat their clients. So mister carlbellingan if you offered a quality service to your clients it would not be nessesary for you to make it up to them... Think about it.
not impressed.
